Beardie App (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a companion app for bearded dragon owners. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, stores and uses.
1) Summary
- We do not sell personal data.
- The app can be used with local on-device data.
- Account creation or sign-in is optional, but may be required for cloud backup, sync and premium features.
- If you sign in, some app data may be stored securely using Firebase services to enable backup and sync.
- The app may use Apple Sign in, Google Sign in, Firebase services, analytics and in-app purchases.
- If you contact us, we will receive the information you choose to send.
2) Account and sign-in
Beardie App may allow users to sign in using Apple Sign in, Google Sign in or other supported authentication methods. When you sign in, we may receive basic account information such as your user ID, email address or display name, depending on the sign-in provider and the information you choose to share.
This information is used to provide account features such as cloud backup, sync, restoring your data across devices and managing premium access.
3) Cloud backup and sync
If you use cloud backup or sync features, some app data may be stored securely using Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage.
This may include beardie profiles, care notes, weight records, growth records, quick health logs, reminders, veterinary records and results, PDF or image attachments you choose to upload, preferences and other app data needed to restore or sync your account across devices.
Cloud backup is optional and is used only to provide app functionality. We do not sell this data.
4) Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Beardie App may offer optional premium features through subscriptions or in-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not directly receive or store your full payment card details.
We may receive limited purchase status information needed to unlock premium features, manage subscriptions and restore purchases.
5) Analytics
Beardie App may use Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage, improve features, monitor performance and identify issues. Analytics data is used in an aggregated way and is not sold to third parties.
6) Text recognition (OCR) / label scanning
- If you use the scan feature, the app processes text visible in an image you choose, such as an ingredient list.
- Images and extracted text are used to show results inside the app.
- We do not intentionally collect or sell your scanned photos for advertising or marketing.
7) Local app data stored on your device
The app may store data locally to improve your experience, such as:
- app settings, language and preferences
- saved items, notes, favourites and quiz progress
- basic beardie profile and tracking information
Local data stays on your device unless you delete it, uninstall the app or choose to use cloud backup/sync features.
8) Support and feedback
If you email us or send feedback, we may collect:
- your email address
- the message content
- any attachments you include
We use this only to respond, provide support and improve the app.
9) Health and veterinary information
Beardie App may allow you to store care-related information about your bearded dragon, such as weight records, feeding notes, growth records or care reminders. This information is about your pet and is used to provide app features.
If you choose to use Cloud Backup, veterinary information, health logs and uploaded attachments may be stored securely in Firebase services so that your information can be restored and synchronized across your devices.

10) Data sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing. We may use trusted service providers such as Firebase, Apple and Google to operate app features, authentication, analytics, cloud storage, backup, sync and purchases.
11) Data retention
- On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Cloud backup data may remain until you delete it or request deletion.
- Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond and maintain support records.
12) Children
Beardie App is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it where required.
13) Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
14) Your choices
- You can use many app features without creating an account.
- You can stop using scan, backup or sync features at any time.
- You can remove local data by deleting the app from your device.
- You can manage subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account.
- You can contact us to request deletion of support emails or cloud data associated with your account.
15) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time when app features change or when required by law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
